The largest aviation hub of India, Delhi handles more than 750 flights every day. In addition to this, AirAsia is also planning to declare Delhi airport as it northern hub. This will increase options for flights to Delhi in the coming years. As per reports, Air Costa – a regional carrier – may also increase its frequencies in the last quarter of 2015. On the other hand, the Indian arm of AirAsia Berhad is planning to launch its services from May, 2015.
This announcement by the three-way joint venture – AirAsia Pvt Ltd (India) is bliss for sports lovers as the 8th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be on its peak in May. Sports enthusiasts can book cheap flights to Delhi with this airline. As per the record, AirAsia may also announce special deals as introductory offer. This will further reduce the cost of tickets, making it an economical affair for travellers.
During the launch, AirAsia planned to focus on small cities in the southern pt of the country. However, with the passage of time and changes in the market scenario, it revised its plan to operate in a restricted region and expand its route in other parts of the country as well. The Indian aviation market has witnessed tremendous changes in the past few years and the demand for domestic flights, especially on routes such as Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata is increasing every passing day. This is the reason that global carriers are also willing to set up their operation in this country. This demand is expected to increase even further due to ongoing tournament IPL T20. A number of IPL matches are scheduled in Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam.
Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians
The 21st IPL match is scheduled at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Mumbai Indians (MI). DD and MI represent the political and financial capitals of India, respectively.
