In addition to Delhi, IndiGo has also launched services on Indore-Mumbai route. Recently-launched Vistara also announced its plan to commence operations on Delhi-Pune route from April 9, 2015.

This Tata-owned airline is now expanding its network route, in order to cater to a larger market. As per a press release, the carrier will soon start flights between Pune and Delhi. It will be the 8th destination in the booking option list of Vistara. Recently, the ranking of Pune has improved because of enhanced economic, political and social environments along with medical and housing provisions. Hence, it is expected that the traffic on this route will increase in the near future. Apart from regular travellers, sports enthusiasts can also make use of this service while making reservations for IPL 2015.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airline said that the company received an overwhelming response over the launch of Goa and Hyderabad flights, and expects the same for this operation as well. The airline will deploy Airbus A320 on this route. It has a capacity of 148 seats, which are divided into three seating classes; 16, 36 and 96 Business, Premium and Economy Class seats, respectively. These aircraft also feature above average legroom for the convenience of passengers. This airline may launch a number of such new operations by the end of 2015 as the fleet is expected to reach nine in this period. Apart from these announcement, the flag carrier – Air India – recently started services for the capital city from Bhubaneswar airport.
