Air Arabia Flights Provide Low Cost Alternatives

Air Arabia is a low cost carrier (LCC) based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has its hubs at four airports, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Borg El Arab and Mohammed V International Airport. The first LCC of the Middle East region, it initiated its services in October 2003. Within 11 years of its existence, the carrier has been able to grow profitably earning AED 566 million as profit in 2014 on revenues of around AED 3.7 billions. Focus cities of this airline are Casablanca in Morocco and Alexandria in Egypt. Due to LCC model of operation, Air Arabia flights connect to nearby destinations in Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Europe, Central Asia and North Africa.

Direct Flights

The carrier offers direct flights to about 115 destinations. Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Alexandria, Casablanca, Tangier, Nador, Fez and Amman are just a few to name. Air Arabia flight booking has helped passengers to take up connecting flights on other airlines where it does not has direct connectivity. In this way, it is able to provide economic tickets on its own served routes and enables travellers to reach to other cities as well as.

The Objective

Air Arabia fares are expectedly lower than those of other carriers of the Gulf region that operate full-service flights to the same destinations. Short routes, quick turnaround time, less maintenance, no frills services and operational efficiency enable it to provide cheaper fares and contribute to the success of budget airline model, which Air Arabia has adopted.

While there are many full-service carriers in the rich Gulf nations, absence of low cost operator had created a huge demand gap, as many could still not afford the luxuries of a legacy carrier. Since there is a huge immigrant population from nearby countries present in Gulf countries, and it maintains links with their homeland, the latent demand for cheaper tickets always existed. With this budget carrier coming into foray, cheaper travel options for budget-conscious travellers has opened up.

With the success of Air Arabia airline, success of its model has also got highlighted. This has paved the way for other LCCs to enter the market to cater to the increasing demand for cheap flights.

Schedule of Flights

Air Arabia does not publish its schedule of flights, hence the same can be downloaded from the website. Hence, visitors can know the schedule by entering the origin and arrival points and search for flights. In this way, they can know which all flights operate on what days and times of the week. Travellers can also check for Air Arabia flight status online by selecting the date of travel, by providing the source and destination cities or flight number. Please note that the flight status is real time information unlike the schedule time, which is known in advance. It helps in preventing long queues and reducing waiting times at airports in case of flight delays. This allows airport maintenance staff to keep passengers within manageable numbers. Travellers are advised to check the flight status before making a move to go to the airport.
