Qatar Airways offered sale of tickets for three days – April 22-24, 2015 – valid on travel dates from 22 April to 31 July, 2015 on its flights originating from Sudan. It also announced special fares for economy class travellers.
Flydubai, a low-cost carrier (LCC) based in Dubai, offered 100 per cent reimbursement on flights booked for travel period between August 15 and September 6, 2015. It also announced flat 50 per cent off on the lowest pay to change fares from Saudi Arabia to Dubai from July 12 to August 3, 2015.
By booking flights for Ramadan with Emirates Airlines, passengers were offered special Iftar meal during the journey.
Similarly, Air Arabia, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways and other carriers of this region were providing various discounts and deals allowing passengers to book cheap flights for Ramadan.
Besides these discounts, airlines also made some changes in their services by offering cold meals instead of hot ones, and discontinued serving alcohol, which is prohibited during this month as per the Islam beliefs. In-flight entertainment systems featured religious movies and TV shows. The baggage allowance limits were increased for the convenience of passengers.
